This Design and Develop Learning Material course teaches you how to plan, develop and design your own material and curricula, develop content for learning material and construct assessment instruments for general use and/or in line with the SETA requirements.

 

This course can be attended by anyone who wish to design and develop learning material for use in credit-bearing courses as well as in non-credit bearing courses, for any learning approach or delivery method. This course can also be attended by Learning and Development Practitioners, HR Practitioners and Assessors & Moderators who must understand the construct and evaluation of assessment instruments.

  • Course Prerequisites

    Learners should have the following:

     

    • Competent in Communications at NQF level 3 or equivalent experience and are able to use basic data gathering methods.
    • Competent at NQF level 4 to write texts for a range of communicative contexts.
    • Competent in general analysis and design techniques, and have a working knowledge of outcome-based education and training. It is also assumed that learners are able to develop learning materials based on a given design.
    • Have achieved unit standard NLRD 115753: Conduct outcomes-based assessment, or equivalent.
    • Competent in the relevant field in which Practitioners are designing assessments, or have access to subject matter experts.
    • Ability to analyse and interpret the relevant outcomes (or standards).
    • Possess a working knowledge of outcome-based education and training.

In Class or Virtual Class Based Learning

A technology mediated delivery method allowing campus based class or virtual class attendance, or a combination of both. Classes can be in the form of lecture based or mentored based.

A technology mediated, self paced online delivery method with personal mentorship.

Important Notes

  • Learners to arrive at the training venue from 08:00 in preparation for 08:30 starting time
  • Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of the proof of payment or an official company purchase order.
  • For full day, on campus courses, Learnfast will supply you with a computer to use for training (if applicable) & tea/coffee and a full lunch. Catering is not included for On-Site training and laptops are available for hire at an additional cost if required.
  • Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be in writing and reach us via email at least 5-10 working days prior to the course commencement date. Full course fees will be retained for no shows.
  • Virtual learners are required to have a stable internet connection & a working headset available for sound purposes.
  • Learners who use their own laptops are fully responsible to ensure that administration rights, software installations, etc. are working sufficiently prior to training.
  • Learnfast reserves the right to cancel or postpone dates if we require to do so and undertake to inform clients in writing and telephonically of these changes.
  • Learnfast is not responsible for costs associated with cancellation of classes such as flight and accommodation for clients.

Module 5: Pilot and Evaluate the Development
