Welcome to the first part of our Microsoft Office Word training program. Microsoft Word is the Office suite’s flagship productivity software. This version of Word incorporates many new features and connectivity options in order to make collaboration and production as easy as possible.
 
 
This course is intended to help all novice computer users get up to speed with Microsoft Office Word quickly and to introduce users to Word’s most important tools, on a basic level.
 
 
By the end of this course, learners should be comfortable with creating a new document, making it look professional and presentable, and saving their document. Learners will also become familiar with using and customizing the Microsoft Word interface.

  • Course Prerequisites

    It is assumed that the learner:

    • understands the basics of using a Windows-based computer
    • Is comfortable using the keyboard, mouse, and Start menu
    • have an understanding and experience with printing and using a web browser is an asset, but not required
    • is competent in Mathematical literacy and communication skills at least at NQF level 1
    • is competent in ID 117902: Use generic functions in a Graphical User Interface  (GUI)-environment, NQF level 1
    • is competent in ID 116938: Use a Graphical User Interface (GUI)-based word processor to create and edit documents, NQF level 1
    • no previous experience with other versions of Microsoft Word is necessary

Important Notes

  • Learners to arrive at the training venue from 08:00 in preparation for 08:30 starting time 
  • Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of the proof of payment or an official company purchase order. 
  • For full day, on campus courses, Learnfast will supply you with a computer to use for training (if applicable),& tea/coffee and a full lunch. Catering is not included for On-Site training and laptops are available for hire at an additional cost if required. 
  • Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be in writing and reach us via email at least 5-10 working days prior to the course commencement date. Full course fees will be retained for no shows. 
  • Virtual learners are required to have a stable internet connection & a working headset available for sound purposes.  
  • Learners who use their own laptops are fully responsible to ensure that administration rights, software installations, etc. are working sufficiently prior to training.

In this lesson, you will learn to identify the components of the Word interface, create a basic document, use the help system in Microsoft Word.

Module 2: Editing a Document

In this lesson learners will find quick ways to navigate around document, select and modify text using variety of different features.

Module 3: Formatting Text and Paragraphs

In this section learners will learn how to use character formatting using tabs, controlling paragraph layout, borders and shading and using styles.

Module 7: Controlling Page Appearance
